TVR International is the public television channel of Romania, broadcasting general information in Romanian.
The channel's purpose is to offer a Romanian perspective on the main cultural, social, economic and political events happening today. TVR International's programming line-up is dedicated to the Romanian traditions and language. One of the channel's objectives is to extend the dialogue between the majority and the national minorities.
All programming, whether political, cultural, artistic, or economically oriented, have an informative quality.
Programs dedicated to science, the environment, tourism, health and leisure also possess the same informative structure. The channel's interactive programs, both cultural and political, are considered the most interesting among its viewers.
TVR International was launched in 1995, on the National Day of Romania, and it is one of the four channels of the Romanian Television Society, together with Romania 1, TVR2 and Romania Cultural. The channel is also a member of the Bruges Group, and The European Association of International Public Stations.
Since its founding, TVR International has became known as a balanced, non-biased and independent information service.
The activity of TVR International is not subject to any political, ethnical or religious influence.
